We hoped for more life like movements to go with their life size. We wanted to see them do more than just slowly wag their tails, slowly open and close their month or slowly move their eyes. The dinosaurs look fake and moved like robots which took away from the whole experience. We were not overly impressed with the Xpedition Dino exhibit. But it was still exciting to see the animals we could see during our visit. Unfortunately it was a hot summer day and many of the animals were either laying down, in the water or hiding in the shade away from the road. We especially loved seeing the giraffes, zebras, water buffalos and brown bears close up. Only, much safer for cars with the baboons and lions caged. But, the Safari Drive Thru was still as much fun and enjoyable as it was back then. Back then the lions and baboons roamed free as you drove through the park. With the exception of the Xpedition Dino exhibit and fact that the lions and baboons were now caged, the Safari Drive Thru was the same as I remember it many years ago. But I was able to play the audio tour for the Drive Thru portion from the Six Flags web site on my cell phone without using the QR code. They also gave us a paper with QR codes to access audio tours for both the Drive Thru and the new Xpedition Dino exhibit from our cell phone. We stopped at the gate, had our tickets scanned by the attendant and was given a road map to the park. (In fact Google maps City View still shows that entrance sign as being there.) Now, upon entering Great Adventures there is a new entrance which is still under construction during our visit - with orange cones set up on the right immediately after the Hurricane Harbor entrance that lead us to a gravel path and a Safari Drive Thru sign. Previously, the Safari shared an entrance with Hurricane Harbor on your right as you enter the park from Route 537. I discovered the entrance to the Safari Drive Thru had been moved from where I remember it. We arrived at the park at 2PM on a Tuesday. On the day of the trip, I added an additional passenger by ordering an electronic ticket which I can display on my cell phone to the attendant at the gate. I ordered four tickets to the Safari Drive Thru online and printed them out to take to the park the next day. New to the park is the Xpedition Dino exhibit which can be combined with your Safari Drive Thru ticket for an extra fee and offers 30 life size dinosaurs complete with movements and sounds. The Safari Drive Thru is a 350 acre animal preserve with over 1,200 animals from six continents and, on a hot summer day, you can see them all from the comfort of your own air conditioned car as you drive through the park. We choose to go to Great Adventure's Safari Drive Thru in Jackson. Something exciting enough for a 10 year old but relaxing enough for an 80 year old. During our school summer break we were looking for a fun family activity close to home.

The diamond was divided into 9 major gemstones, 96 smaller stones and about 19.5cts of unpolished pieces. The Cullinan was handed to Amsterdam’s House of Asscher to polish. US $1 million and presented it to England’s King Edward VII as a token of thanks for granting Transvaal its own constitution. Louis Botha, premier of the Transvaal, persuaded his government to buy the diamond for approx. The rough diamond was nearly flawless and named the Cullinan in honour of Sir Thomas Cullinan, the founder of the Premier Mine, who was visiting that very day. Thus, when using more powerful magnification, such as 60x or 100x, a Flawless diamond engagement ring may actually present visible blemishes. The Cullinan, the largest gem quality diamond ever found, was discovered at the Premier Mine on 26th January 1905. Because diamonds are formed in nature under turbulent conditions of extreme heat and pressure, diamonds cannot be 100% pure. As mentioned, the definition of a Flawless diamond is one that has no inclusions visible under 10x magnification. In reality, no diamond is truly flawless. However, despite the grading report’s prestigious title of “Flawless,” Flawless diamonds are not truly flawless. In contrast, any internal inclusions such as surface grain lines that extend into the diamond’s body would cause a diamond to fall out of the category of Flawless and Internally Flawless diamonds-and such inclusions cannot be removed with further polishing. Although these blemishes can be removed with further polishing, diamond cutters choose not to continue polishing in order to avoid decreasing the diamond’s carat weight and risk reducing its monetary value. When reading the grading report of an internally flawless diamond, you may see comments such as “minor details of polish are not shown,” “surface graining is not shown,” and “minor details of finish are not shown.” These comments are normal because they refer to the namesake inherent blemishes that distinguish an internally flawless diamond from a flawless diamond. Despite this extreme difficulty in detecting any visual differences between internally flawless diamonds and flawless diamonds, the internally flawless diamond price differs greatly from that of a flawless diamond. Even trained gemologists using microscopes may have a difficult time. It is nearly impossible for the naked eye to differentiate between flawless and internally flawless diamonds rings. Thus, a Flawless and Internally Flawless diamond have the same internal clarity, with the differentiating factor exiting as a matter of the polishing of the diamond’s facets. Any surface blemishes such as surface graining, naturals, extra facets, or polish marks would downgrade a diamond from Flawless to Internally Flawless. Essentially, the difference between a Flawless diamond engagement ring and an Internally Flawless diamond ring is the presence of blemishes on the diamond's surface. Internally Flawless (IF) diamonds are those with visible blemishes-but no inclusions. Flawless diamonds are defined as those with no visible inclusions or blemishes. When determining clarity, the GIA considers the size, nature, position, color, and quantity of clarity characteristics visible under 10× magnification. Flawless (FL) and Internally Flawless (IF) diamonds top the GIA clarity scale, followed by Very, Very Slightly Included (VVS1 and VVS2), Very Slightly Included (VS1 and VS2), Slightly Included (SI1 and SI2), and Included (S1, S2, S3) diamonds. Browse Loose DiamondsĪlthough diamond clarity scales vary depending on the laboratory, the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) serves as the industry standard. When considering diamond clarity, internally flawless and flawless diamond engagement rings represent the pinnacle of perfect diamond clarity. So if you want to be a sudoku-solving master, read on! In most cases, the technique might seem like much work for very little pay, but some puzzles can only be solved with it. Swordfish is a more complicated version of X-Wing. This is because in the top row, either the first or the second red cell must have a 5, and the same can be said about the lower row. Well, now, this means you can eliminate 5 as the candidate for all the blue cells. In this case you obviously need to put a 5 in two of the red cells, and you also know they cannot both be in the same row. Now, imagine if the red cells are the only cells in column 2 and 8 in which you can put 5. In this example, let's say that the red and blue cells all have the number 5 as candidate numbers. This method can work when you look at cells comprising a rectangle, such as the cells marked in red. Since 6 and 7 must be placed in one of the cells with a red circle, it follows that the number 5 has to be placed in cell number 8, and thus we can remove any other candidates from the 8th cell in this case, 2 and 3. In this example, we see that the numbers 5, 6, 7 can only be placed in cells 5 or 6 in the first column (marked in a red circle), and that the number 5 can only be inserted in cell number 8 (marked in a blue circle). This is similar to Naked subset, but it affects the cells holding the candidates. This technique even works with four candidate numbers, assuming you have 4 possible candidates in four different cells in a row/column. We could remove these three numbers as candidates in any of the remaining cells in the column. This would mean those three numbers would have to be placed in either rows 1, 2 or 5. For example, let us say the pairs circled in red were instead triple candidates of the numbers 1, 4, 7. You can also use this technique if you have more than two candidates. In this puzzle, this means 1 becomes sole candidate in the second row 2 becomes sole candidate in row 6 and thus, 6 is sole candidate for row number 4. Since 4 and 7 must be placed in either of these two cells, all of the pairs circled in blue, can remove those numbers as candidates. In the example, the two candidate pairs circled in red, are the sole candidates. These two numbers appear as candidates in all of the other open cells in that column too, but since they are the only two candidates in rows 1 and 5, these two numbers cannot appear anywhere else in the row, thus you can remove them. The example shows that row number 1 and row number 5 both have a cell in the same column containing only the candidate numbers 4 and 7. This means, we can eliminate 8 from the upper and lower rows in the middle-right column. In the middle and the middle-left blocks, the number 8 must be placed in one of the red cells. This technique is best understood by looking at the example. Thus you can remove 7 as a possible candidate from the rest of the row. The example shows that the number 7 can only be inserted in the red cells of the middle row. This method won't help you pencil in any new numbers, but it will help you nail a number down within a specific row or column. This example illustrates the number 4 as the unique candidate for the cell marked in red. Therefore, if a number, say 4, can only be put in a single cell within a block/column/row, then that number is guaranteed to fit there. You know that each block, row and column on a Sudoku board must contain every number between 1 and 9. In this example, the red cell can only contain the number 5, as the other eight numbers have all been used in the related block, column and row. This happens whenever all other numbers but the candidate number exists in either the current block, column or row. When a specific cell can only contain a single number, that number is a "sole candidate". You should be able to solve almost any Sudoku puzzle using these techniques. Then, start with the basic techniques again, and repeat the process. Do one at a time until you can plot one more number into a cell. Then, when you can add no more numbers to the board using the basic techniques, try the more advanced ones. Use the first few techniques to insert as many numbers as you can. When utilizing these techniques, the way the pros prefer to do it, is to start with the basic ones. This article presents nine such techniques in increasing difficulty. Solving a hard Sudoku puzzle will require quite a different set of techniques compared to an easy one. Their approach, though, may not be the same. Whenever they play a puzzle tailored for their level of competence, both the beginner and the experienced Sudoku solver will have to put a good amount of thought and technique into completing the task. One of the greatest aspects of Sudoku is that the game offers engaging challenges to both the novice, as well as the seasoned puzzle player. CerebroĬerebro is a cross-platform, system-wide search tool for any Linux distro that enables users to quickly search for and navigate to any file anywhere in their system.Ĭerebro features a modern minimalist UI with plugin support and the ability to display accurate previews of the files in the search results. Today, we bring you a compiled list of the 8 most awesome so that you don’t have to do all that work yourself any longer. Navigation across files: When you opened more than two files ( for e.g – less * ), use the following keys to navigate between files.Over the years we have covered some of the best file searching tools for the Linux desktop and till date, the titles that we covered remain the most sought out for by users. Method 2: While you are viewing file1, use :e to open the file2 as shown below. Method 1: You can open multiple files by passing the file names as arguments. ma – mark the current position with the letter ‘a’,.When you are viewing a large log file using less command, you can mark a particular position and return back to that place again by using that mark. Open any types of files using less commandĪs we discussed in our earlier article, you can use less command to Open & view 10 different file types. &pattern – display only the matching lines, not all.Ĩ.v – using the configured editor edit the current file.CTRL+G – show the current file name along with line, byte and percentage statistics.Similar to Vim editor navigation command, you can give 10j to scroll 10 lines down, or 10k to go up by 10 lines. This is as similar to ‘tail -f’.Īlso, refer to our earlier article about how to view multiple logs files using tail -f. However, you can press F less command will show the status ‘ waiting for data‘. Once you’ve opened a file using less command, any content that is appended to the file after that will not be displayed automatically. Simulate tail -f inside less pager – Press F The following are other navigation operations that you can use inside the less pager.ĥ. In a smaller chunk of data, where you want to locate particular error, you may want to navigate line by line using these keys: Use the following screen navigation commands while viewing large log files. Tip: If you dont bother about which direction the search is happening, and you want to search file path, or URL, such as “/home/ramesh/”, you can use backward search (?pattern) which will be handy as you don’t want to escape slashes each time. N – for previous match in forward direction.n – for next match in backward direction.? – search for a pattern which will take you to the previous occurrence./ – search for a pattern which will take you to the next occurrence. Please note that the match will be highlighted automatically by default. Once you’ve opened a log file (or any file) using less file-name, use the following keys to search. In this article, let us look at few less command navigation and other operations which will make you a better command line warrior. The navigation keys in less command are similar to Vim editor. Try opening a large log file in Vim editor and less - you’ll see the speed difference. Moreover, less don’t require to load the whole file before viewing. Less is similar to more command, but less allows both forward and backward movements. I personally prefer to use less command to view files (instead of opening the file to view in an editor). They have been conducting patrols and community cleanups in Dallas since early September. Yafeuh Balogun said he believes these patrols are more successful at curbing crime because they are in touch with the communities they’re deployed in.Īt last week’s public safety meeting, City Council member Casey Thomas said that in moving forward with the violence interrupters program the city reaches out to organizations who are already doing work in the communities that need help.Īccording to NBC, one of the groups involved with the city’s program is Urban Specialists, founded by Bishop Omar Jahwar. The city will be launching its own violence interrupters program, as recommended by Mayor Eric Johnson’s Safer Communities Task Force. By marching in Dallas over the weekend, he said, he hoped to influence others to do similar patrols and help heal their communities from the inside. Yafeuh Balogun said the Highland Hills patrols were heavily influenced by Minkah. And, I didn't fight to look around in the same neighborhoods where I waged battle to be taken over by crooks and hoodlums and drug lords.” “I fought for freedom and justice for all people, all oppressed people. “Since 1968, I fought for the freedom of African-American people,” Minkah said. But after a while, he said he realized he needed to start looking inward, at what was happening to his own community. The idea was to harass them until they left town.īefore the patrols in the late ’80s, Minkah said he spent many years as an activist looking outward as he fought for the rights of black people. The group gathered information on local drug pushers and let them know they were being watched. CBS highlighted Minkah’s efforts in a segment called “The Dallas Drug War.”Īrmed AMAN Drug Fighters patrols were conducted in neighborhoods and apartment complexes to force out the gun-toting, drug-dealing gangsters who wreaked havoc on their communities. In 1989, the late activist and community organizer Fahim Minkah organized his AMAN (African Men Against Narcotics) Drug Fighters to help combat the lack of police protection in South Oak Cliff. Guerrilla Mainframe and its associate organizations have a history of conducting armed patrols and demonstrations in South Dallas dating to 2008, along with other community work such as food drives, self-defense training and neighborhood cleanups.īut these communities have been working to clean up their own streets for several decades now.īack in the late '80s and early '90s, crime reached an all-time high, and the number of homicides surpassed 500 in 1991. According to crime statistics provided to the complex manager by the police, crime decreased during the time the activists were conducting their patrols. Their role in the community was similar to the violence interrupters proposed by the city. The apartments sit in Highland Hills, an area riddled with crime. The city was in a similar place last year when both the mayor and police chief rolled out their own plans to make Dallas safer.Īround the same time that state troopers were deployed in South Dallas that summer, Yafeuh Balogun, along with activist groups Guerrilla Mainframe and Black Empowerment Movement, stationed themselves in the Highland Park Apartment Complex. “Especially with these folks killing each other like I don’t know what.”īy a very small metric, overall violent crime is down in Dallas, but homicides are up, the highest they’ve been in 10 years. “We do need to stop the violence,” she said. “We wanted to come out here and respond to the violence that has occurred in the community and try to be something positive,” Yafeuh Balogun said.Ī resident in one of the neighborhoods the patrollers marched through said she often hears the sound of gunshots ringing out in the community. The same year, the gun club gained national attention for their armed protests in Dallas and have organized several community patrols in several of the city’s underserved, high crime areas. Newton, community organizers Yafeuh and Rakem Balogun along with Babu Omowale formed the group in 2014. Named after the co-founder of the Black Panther Party, Huey P. Newton Gun Club from across the country.Īs they marched with their guns slung over their shoulders, they shouted, “Who protects us? We do!” Most of the patrollers were with various chapters of the Huey P. As President Donald Trump's supporters gathered downtown Saturday to dispute the results of the election, about 200 armed activists patrolled the streets of South Dallas in an attempt to curb violence in the community. Like the rest of Nostalgia, it's dark, playful, a little tasteless, and absolutely riveting. Sampling world-class sulkers like Coldplay and Radiohead, as well as Stanley Kubrick's queasy dissection of marriage, Eyes Wide Shut, Ocean saves his boldest move for the 7-minute epic "American Wedding," fantasizing about his nuptials as the ultimate hymn of coke-addled self-absorption, The Eagles' "Hotel California," plays out in its entirety. Ocean presents himself as a troubled guy in his early 20s who does cocaine for breakfast (as he sings over an aestheticized shuffle supplied by superstar producer Tricky Stewart on "Novacane") and can't decide whether to rue or revel in his conflicted feelings about women (the hit-single-in-waiting "Songs For Women").
